When people come together
to better the local communities they live in, the United States, in turn, will
become a better place to live than ever before. By starting with community
service in our local towns and cities, we can better the living standards and
help our fellow Americans who are in need for assistance. Voting also has a
profound effect on how successful a country can be. In a country who elects one
person to be the voice of over 300 million people, voting is a pressing
concern. When people are more informed of the situations happening in not only
our country, but around the world, they can vote to elect the best person for
the job. The United States is a powerful country who is run by the people
living in it. Few other countries have this type of system and many in other
countries often fight for their right to vote for the next leader of the
country. In my own personal experiences, whether helping in soup kitchens, or
packaging care packages for children in Ghana, I have realized that the work I
am doing really does help people in need. If everyone donated an hour of their
time a week to a local food shelter, or an equivalent service, the starving
people on the streets of America would no longer go unfed. I believe that a
true community is one that supports each other. A true community is made of
people who continue to push you to reach your full potential and in return you
help another person to better their life.
